Home gym gifts

If you know somebody who's lucky enough to have a home gym, you can be fairly sure they’re really interested in keeping fit. By dedicating a room of their home to gym or fitness equipment they’ve already made a big statement. Buying a gift to go into their home gym is bound to be well received as their home gym is a big part of their lives.

To help in your choice of gift for a home gym owner, it’d be a good idea to find out what equipment is already in their home gym. Not only should you look at the pieces of gym equipment there (i.e. weights bench, treadmill, exercise bike), but you should also pay attention to the quality of the equipment.

Even with what you’d consider basic gym equipment, like dumbbells, there can be a huge range in both quality and price for what the layman would consider the same thing. There are different build qualities, ranging from basic, through home gym use to commercial gym equipment (and prices increase accordingly).

If the home gym owner has spent a lot of money on commercial gym standard equipment for their home gym, and you’re looking to buy them an exercise bike, you should really be looking to buy the same level of equipment as they have in the rest of their home gym. This might mean the product you’d seen for £100 comes way short of the rest of the equipment in their home gym, so probably wouldn’t get used. If the gym equipment is high standard, unless you have a large budget you’d be better thinking of a smaller piece of equipment as a gift.
