Gliding Discovery Flight

Experience gliding's extraordinary sensations of speed and silence, flying in one of these spectacular and graceful craft. Your trial lesson will last between 15 and 30 minutes depending on weather conditions, when you'll learn how to turn and manoeuvre the glider, perhaps even taking the controls yourself.

Locations are Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Essex (South East), Northamptonshire, Gloucestershire (Midlands) Brecon, Denbigh (Wales), Devon (South West).

The activity takes place in a dual-controlled glider accompanied by a fully qualified gliding instructor. On arrival you'll be given a safety briefing first. The glider will either be towed into the air by a powered aircraft, or winched up to a height of around 2000ft and released over the beautiful countryside. Your instructor will demonstrate the controls and you might have a go at flying yourself if you wish.

As gliding is extremely weather dependent, it's impossible to predict the length of your flight, but it should last between 15 and 30 minutes. Every effort will be made to ensure you get the best and safest flight for the conditions.

Please note that at Denbigh you'll be given 2 x winch launches with up to 30 minutes flying in total.
