Green Glass recycled glasses - Olive flutes

Originated from an idea from environmental projects in Botswana and Namibia. These funky glasses have been developed with the originators of the idea in South Africa.

What an environmentally friendly and fun use of a wine bottle. The glasses have been sand blasted to create a decorative gecko design.

The bottles are cut and ground before being melted to make a smooth drinking surface. The glass is then annealed to ensure they are as hard wearing as possible, with the entire process taking around three hours. As these glasses aren’t melted down as with normal glass recycling, these glasses save about 90% of the energy from the recycling process.

The pack includes 2 glasses, making an ideal gift. Each glass is 12.5cm tall and holds approx 200ml.
