Parents who want their children to live a healthy lifestyle must really dread Easter. Chocolate Easter Eggs are everywhere. They’re advertised on TV and in newspapers, their friends are talking about them and supermarket and shop shelves full of them; there really is nowhere to hide. And try telling a child they can’t have chocolate when it’s everywhere. Maybe Easter is a time to compromise a little?
Easter only comes once a year and maybe allowing them a little chocolate, perhaps one or two Easter Eggs is only fair. Yes, even though they’re loaded with sugar. Even though they’ll give your kids blood sugar spikes and might even bring on a mild case of hyperactivity. If your children learn to associate chocolate with an occasional treat rather than being denied chocolate altogether, you might be doing them a favour in the long term.

It is possible, but is it worth it?
Yes, it is possible to avoid giving chocolate Easter eggs, but is it really worth it? If they want Easter eggs and don’t get any, isn’t there the chance that as they get older they’ll rebel against your ideals? Allowing a little chocolate, but in moderation might be a better way to promote a healthy diet and a good attitude to chocolate and sweets.
