It’s your average dating nightmare scenario. You finally meet someone great but it’s just before Valentines Day and you don’t know how to play it. You’d really love to be seeing them well after Valentines Day, but what should you do? Buy them a Valentines gift and you might appear too forward, but if you don’t – and they do, it couldn’t be any worse.
And what if you decide to buy them a Valentines gift, but as you’ve only just started seeing each other you won’t want to spend too much. You’ll have to get them a small gift, but won’t want to appear too stingy. What a nightmare!

Maybe something small, but romantic
Firstly, not buying a Valentines gift isn’t really an option, unless you’re not planning on seeing them again (particularly if you’re buying/not buying for a woman). If you’ve literally only just met, choose something small, but romantic and you can’t go wrong. Even if it only costs a few pounds, a well chosen Valentines gift can go a long way to making a good impression.
Of course, you won’t know much about your new partner, so making a choice will be more difficult than usual, but not impossible.
Take a look around our collection of gifts – we have gifts for every budget, and see if anything grabs you. If you can, find something different - there are plenty of great ideas to help you find the perfect Valentines gift.
