Buying healthy Christmas presents
You may want to buy a healthy Christmas present, but don’t want to force your beliefs or standards on a young child. With your own children, it’s very much your decision how you bring them up. If it’s not your child, take a moment to consider how the parents will feel about your gift.
As with any gift, it has to be appropriate. It’s no good buying a healthy gift just because it’s healthy. Your gift should be well received and especially with young children, it should be something fun. Even a first Christmas present is something that will be played with.

Outdoor activities and learning are great, healthy options for Christmas
Generally speaking, any Christmas present which encourages outdoor activity could be seen as healthy. Too many children flop in front of a TV screen or computer monitor and don’t get enough outdoor playtime. If your gift can help encourage any child to become more active it’s a great lesson learnt early.
So too with a present which encourages learning. Especially in young children, learning isn’t something which should just happen at school. Every child needs playtime, but if that playtime is stimulating as well as fun, it’s surely time well spent.
