Sony has announced their upcoming W-series wearable walkmans at CES 2009, the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. With a design ideal for both serious runners and casual joggers, there are no wires or cables as the tech is all in the headphones.

For anyone who’s been running with a walkman, iPod or any other MP3 player knows, it’s making sure the MP3 player doesn’t fall off or smash around their body which is the main problem, with the wires to the headphones coming a close second. As the W-series Walkman will fix both these problems, it appears ideally suited to anyone serious about exercising; whether walking, running or biking.

W-Series Walkman available in Spring 2009

With a quick charge feature, requiring a 3 minute charge for 90 minutes of playback, you’ll be able to just pick them up and go any time. They’ll be available in the UK in Spring 2009; and we can’t wait.
