Beauty gifts have come a long way

Posted on 24/10/2008

When I was younger, I’d usually buy a bottle of perfume for my girlfriend for Christmas, Valentines Day or her Birthday. I just went with the top brands and gave no thought whatsoever about how healthy my gift was. I’m talking about when I was 18, 19, and 20 years old. What did I know? There wasn’t an Internet to help me out, that’s just what we did.

The fact that these bottles of perfume smelt nice was all that I thought about (maybe the packaging and brand image too!). I can’t remember whether or not I knew alcohol based beauty products caused damage to skin? If I did, it can’t have registered too highly in my conscience.

Healthy beauty products make great gifts

With skin allergies on the rise and many people suffering from sensitive skin, people are demanding more. Since the introduction of organic ranges and beauty products which use natural ingredients, buying beauty products is generally a lot healthier.

There are organic options available across the board, with new products being released all the time. And they’re not just from smaller, unknown brands; the top brands have now caught on and are offering organic and natural products too.

So take another look at beauty gifts when thinking about what you should buy.
